New Jersey cop and Good Samaritans team up to pull two women from a burning car.
Torres used his knife to snap the seat-belt off but the door was stuck shut and the airbag had deployed.
Together the cop, and a group of locals who heard the crash and ran to help, were seen struggling to force open the door as flames peaked out from under the vehicle's hood. The woman appeared to be in a daze as they were finally dragged clear of the car. Torres can be heard asking the woman if she can get out but she doesn't respond. Moments after they were freed, the vehicle burst into flames. Joshua Sandoval - who lives near where the crash occurred - is one of the men in the video seen assisting Torres in pulling the door. 'We just kept pulling, puling and pulling,' Sandoval said. 'I'm like come on, there is no excuse. At this point we have to get this open.'
'They're human beings,' Sandoval added. 'It's not a matter of thinking about it. It's a matter of getting the action done.' The cause of the accident is currently unknown. 'I'm just glad it worked out okay, that we were able to remove her from the vehicle and get her to safety,' said Officer Torres.
