Fashion editor who claims she ‘speaks to dead people’ reveals how ‘spirit voices’ led her to the man who's now her HUSBAND on This Morning.
A fashion editor and mother-of-two has told how she 'speaks to dead people' on This Morning.
Stacey Duguid, from London, even believes it was 'spirit voices' who told her to meet up with the man who is now her husband. She was 35 and single when a voice told her to meet up with a man she matched with on the dating website Guardian Soulmates, Stacey said - and it was 'love at first sight'. The editor, who said she first heard voices aged 13, said they sometimes speak 'through her' as though they are 'hijacking' her body, and recalled how she had relayed messages to friends from loved ones who have passed on.
Stacey, who has worked for Prada and written for fashion magazines including Elle, is now married to the man she met online, and the couple share two children.Speaking about her husband, she revealed: 'My science husband is very understanding. We met because a spirit told me to meet him on Guardian Soulmates dating. 'I was single at 35 and cancelled [our] date first time. [A] spirit told me to meet him said "go meet him!"
And it was love at first sight.'Recalling her journey to understand what she calls her 'sixth sense', Stacey told how she had her first other-worldly experience as a child aged six. 'I came out of [a] bedroom and saw a dog, but I realised it was actually a ghost when I put my hand through it and it disappeared,' she said.'It came along to the corner of the stairs where I [was] always scared of going. I didn't tell my family at the time but my mother later said that I always ran past that part of the stairs.' She continued:
'As I got older I started to channel voices out loud but it was all accidental. 'The first time the voice came out of me I was stood in a bar, and I suddenly told my friend "your dad wants you to call your aunt". My friend went very silent and said "my dad is dead."''Last September I decided I wanted to find out more about my sixth sense after a particular incident.
'I'm a fashion editor, and I was in a meeting with a fashion client when I got the familiar pins and needles that happens ahead of me hearing voices. 'A voice started telling me to tell the woman I was in a meeting with not to sell her house.'I said no for four minutes to the persistent voice, then it just came through me. It said: "You are going to live by water and I can draw the vision for you". 'After I described it to her she confessed she had drawn this same picture in therapy when her partner died. I cried and she cried, these things are very emotional.'
Describing how she recognises when it is a spirit voice, she said: 'The spirit voice is much louder and more forceful than a normal voice. 'I'm stood three feet from my body and it just comes through me. It's almost as if I've been hijacked. Stacey admitted: 'I first heard it at 13 and I haven't learned to tune it out. At first it was... upsetting as you think you're going bonkers.'
