A girl has narrowly escaped death after a massive shop sign collapsed right next to her in southern China.
Shocking video footage of the incident in Hunan province shows the girl strolling on the pavement at Ningxiang city when a store sign above her suddenly came lose.
The sign, appeared to be made of wood, suddenly came tumbling down on her.
In a matter of seconds, the girl instinctively stepped to the side as the sign came crashing down, the video posted on YouTube-like Yoku shows.
The heavy sign struck the pavement, sending dust and rocks flying, and narrowly missed the child.
However, the signboard hit a car parked in front of the store.
The girl fortunately appeared to be unhurt and immediately ran away from the scene.
The hair-raising incident reportedly happened on Wednesday near a local shopping district.
It is not known if the girl's carers were with her at the time of the incident.
