Hundreds gather to remember 10 victims of Santa Fe school shooting.

Texas tough: Injured student has his bullet wound treated at vigil he refused to miss while, Texans star JJ Watt offers to pay for ALL the victim's funerals as Texas rallies to honor the Santa Fe ten.

An injured student who watched his friends take their final breaths was among hundreds attending a vigil remembering the 10 people

killed in the Texas high school shooting.
Abel San Miguel, 15, who was hurt when a bullet grazed his back while he hid in an art class storage closet, had his wound tended to by his father at the gathering on Friday night.

San Miguel took cover after hearing gunfire in the hallway at Santa Fe High School, and he was shot when the gunman fired into the closet door.

He didn't think the shooter was trying to hurt him specifically, he told ABC 13, adding: 'He was trying to get someone.

'Terrifying. Terrifying. Like, I didn't know if I was gonna make it home or not.'
San Miguel said one of the bullets killed a student near him - junior Chris Stone.

He told the Baltimore Sun that when the gunman briefly left the room, they emerged from their hiding place and tried to barricade the door.

The shooter managed to push it open and then he spotted someone he knew.
'When he saw Kyle he said, "Surprise",' San Miguel told the Baltimore Sun, before explaining the boy was shot in the chest.

His father, Gabriel San Miguel, who was photographed carefully lifting the bandage from his son's back to check the wound at the vigil in Santa Fe, explained that his son saw his friends die.
'He says he saw them gasping for air, for their final breath,' he said. 'It hurts me, because I'm 46 years old and I've never seen anything like

that. It hurts me where he should be safe at school.'
A crowd of around 1,000 held each other close around dusk as the community sought to cope with the tragedy.

People prayed and sang 'Amazing Grace', tears streaming down their faces at the emotional vigil on Friday night. Emotional support dogs were on hand to comfort the grieving community. It was attended by both Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz who lit candles and spoke to those gathered.
