2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings’ table for clinical, pre-clinical and health subjects has been released today.
According to the Times, the ranking process uses a rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings.
It highlights the universities that are leading across medicine, dentistry and other health subjects.
This year, they made a small adjustment to the eligibility criterion for academic staff in the subject tables, which has resulted in more universities being eligible for inclusion.
The 2019 clinical, pre-clinical and health ranking has also expanded to include 721 universities, up from 501 last year.
In the ranking, the University of Oxford leads the table for the eighth consecutive year, while UCL joins the top 10 at eighth place, up from 12th.
Australia’s University of Melbourne is the only institution outside the UK and US to feature in the top 10, claiming joint ninth place.
University of Ibadan and University of Nigeria made it to the first 400.
Times indicated that 57% of UI's entire global citation is from medical sciences.
