Bangladeshi woman has acid thrown on her by husband after they had an argument

Tarnia Parvin, 25, suffered severe burns to her face, arms and upper body after she had acid thrown on her by her husband following a trivial, domestic issue. She was rescued by locals who heard her agonized screams and took her to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she is being treated. The incident took place at 8pm local time as she was going to prayers.

Of these, 1847 were female, 901 were male and 877 were children, according to the Acid Survivors Foundation.
Some criminals have used acid to inflict devastating pain on their victims, due to its low cost and horrific impact.

According to Bangladesh National Women Lawyer Association, in 2015 violence for dowry, and stalking had increased and incidents resulted in the killing of 1,847 women and girls while 301 others had committed suicide.

Graphic photos: Armed Fulani herdsmen attack Agatu LGA, Benue State, scores killed, village set ablaze

Several people were killed and many houses razed to the ground when suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked Okoloko in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State on Tuesday.
According to reports, the heavily armed men who came in large numbers on life boats through the Benue river from Nasarawa and raided Akwu, Aila, Okoloko and other villages of Agatu.

Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) in a statement released through its Media Director, Mr. Anthony Ikwulono, confirmed the attack and called on the state governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, and his Deputy to make an unscheduled visit to the area to assess the situation for themselves and mobilize security to the area. It describes the attack as barbaric and unwarranted. Below is the statement:

The All Progressives Congress(APC), Benue State Chapter has in a strong term condemned attacks on the people of Okokolo in Agatu Local Government Area by Fulani Herdsmen setting the entire village ablaze.
It’s barbaric, Unwarranted and uncalled for. We, therefore, call on the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, and his deputy, Engineer Benson Abounu to pay an Unscheduled visit to the area to assess the damages caused by the herdsmen.
We equally appeal to the governor to deploy extra security men to Agatu local government area.

Okokolo is the ancestral home of Agbaduma and the hometown of the state director of publicity, Mr. John Ikwulono.

A dad says he might tattoo his identical twins so he can tell them apart

A dad who can't tell his identical one-year-old sons apart has made a desperate plea online to parents of other sets of twins to help him out with ways by which he can easily identify them.
The anonymous man wrote the cry for help on  Reddit , after admitting that he and his wife had 'tried everything' to tell them apart.

His desperation is due to the fact that one of the twins has serious health issues and needs medication every four hours.
He wrote:
"If he doesn't have his medication it leads to significant consequences. The boys are completely identical. Even me and my wife can't tell them apart and have been drawing on Adam's arm every day with permanent marker."

He added:
"The twins were at Grandma's and after a bath rubbed off the text, Grandma accidentally gave Aaron's medication to Adam.
"Adam ended up very sick and Aaron in hospital for a week. This is a serious, extreme situation and I don't want to take this risk again. We have had other mix-ups with the boys but it has never wound up this bad."
He said they've tried everything from nail polish to bracelets to anklets to specific colours of clothes for each boy but they want something more permanent to identify them with.
"I read online about someone tattooing a single dot on one of the twins and also about piercing ears.
"I really hate to say it, but we are here. I need to do something permanent. I could have lost both my sons last weekend and I'm desperate.
"I am really only after permanent solutions. Believe me when I say we have tried everything else before and it didn't work. Please help me. I don't want to lose my boy."
Some reddit users gave some suggestions. One said:
"My friend has a similar issue and used to paint her boys' toenails. She ended up getting a dot tattooed on the bottom of one boy's foot".
"I think the ear piercing is a great idea, very low risk. Babies often have their ears pierced while they are young with no extreme side effects"

Usher, President Obama sing tribute to Ray Charles at the White House

President Obama pays tribute to the late, great Ray Charles and joins Usher in leading a sing-along of "What'd I Say" at the final "In Performance at the White House" concert of the Obama administration

President Barack Obama paid tribute Wednesday to Ray Charles and the late singer-songwriter's unmistakable "singular sound" that the president said continues to influence generations of musicians.

Obama noted that Charles grew up in the segregated South, his early years colored by poverty and tragedy. But, the president said, Charles had two things working in his favor: a strong mother and music.
The audience booed playfully when Obama mentioned during his welcoming remarks that Wednesday's program is the final "In Performance" event of his administration. Obama will leave office in January after two terms.

"Over the past seven years, Michelle and I have set aside nights like this to celebrate the music that shaped America," he said, adding that it had become one of their most-cherished traditions. "I will not sing. But for our last one, it is fitting that we pay tribute to one of our favorites."
But the president immediately failed to keep his promise, joining in and eventually leading the call and response portion of Charles' "What'd I Say."

He quoted Charles as once saying that he was born with music inside of him and noted that Charles' career encompassed every genre, including jazz, R&B, rock 'n' roll, country and soul.

"Whatever genre of music he was playing, there was no mistaking his singular sound: that virtuoso piano playing that matched that one-of-a-kind voice," Obama said at the White House, where he and first lady Michelle Obama hosted a taping of "Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles: In Performance at the White House."

New things the Samsung Galaxy S7 can do that the iPhone can't

Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge phones on Sunday at the MWC event in Barcelona.
We had some hands-on time with the Galaxy S7 phones at a press event in New York City before the show, and we were impressed with its features and functions, many of which you won't find on iPhones.

Water resistance
The Galaxy S7 is rated with "IP68" dust and water-resistance, which means it can be submerged down to five feet underwater for up to 30 minutes.

That's definitely good enough to protect the Galaxy S7 against accidental drops in the toilet or sink, rain, spills, and maybe even being pushed into the shallow end of the pool with your phone in your pocket.

The Galaxy S5 was Samsung's last water-resistant phone, as Samsung ditched water resistance in the Galaxy S6 in favor of a sleek design.

Indeed, water-resistant materials meant the S5 was relatively bulky, and its charging port needed a water-resistant cover that many S5 owners complained would easily break off. As a result of breaking the charging port cover, the S5 was no longer water-resistant.
Samsung seems to have figured out a way to keep the S7 water-resistant with a sleek design and without a flimsy charging port cover. We shot water directly into the S7's charging port without damaging the phone at all.

Expandable storage
The microSD card slot for expandable storage is back in the Galaxy S7 after Samsung removed it in the Galaxy S6.
Expandable storage lets users store more pictures, videos, and music while keeping a phone's built-in storage open for more apps.

Corey Protin/Tech Insider
After making plastic phones while the competition moved on to premium materials, like glass and metal, Samsung was pressured to also make a phone with premium materials. And so it designed the S6 with glass and metal. The S6 was beautiful as a result, but it meant the back couldn't be removed to give users access to a microSD card slot.
Samsung incorporated the microSD card slot into the SIM card tray instead of its usual place behind a removable back cover. You can add up to 200 GB of extra storage.
 Cool right?! :)

Commitment Is Ben Affleck Rewriting The Script For “Batman v Superman” While Dressed As Batman

If I’ve learned anything about Ben Affleck, it’s that when he does something, he goes all in. When Ben Affleck decided to cheat on his wife, he went full-Hollywood and did it with the nanny. When Ben Affleck decided to take his gambling game to the next level, he started counting cards and getting kicked out of casinos. And when it comes to fixing all the fuck-ups and plot holes in the script for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he did it dressed as Batman.

A source tells UsWeekly that when Ben arrived to set, he’d head to wardrobe, slip into his Batman suit, grab a copy of the script, and start making changes. I know Ben Affleck is an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, but I wasn’t aware he was helping write that movie. According to the Internet, he wasn’t supposed to do anything more for Superhero Slap Fight than put on a costume and scowl into the camera. But reportedly Ben “wasn’t thrilled with it and would find himself on multiple occasions fixing it the day of.”

I don’t know how long Ben spent fixing the script, but I’ll be honest – it was clearly a waste of time. I must have watched the trailers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at least 600 times, and not ONCE did I see anyone serving up some sweet moves to Prince’s Batdance. How can you rewrite a movie about Batman and leave out the most important aspect of the franchise? But I’ll give credit where credit is due. Ben totally could have done those rewrites in the comfort of a Doritos-covered Snuggie like a real writer (uh…or so I’ve heard). Instead, he chose to marinate in rubber Batsuit sweat and risk heat stroke to his balls. And then when he was done shooting, he made like Bruce Wayne and headed to a club where he proceeded to work his rich single guy game on a bunch of blondes. Ben is truly committed to his craft.

Jennifer Garner Got Into “The Nanny” And Ben Affleck’s Mid-Life Crisis Back Tattoo With Vanity Fair

When the words “Jennifer Garner Tells All”
popped up on
my Twitter timeline, I nearly popped the popcorn and
poured myself a big glass of the sweet nectar, because I
was ready for her to fill my head with all sorts of
juiciness, like how she went Sydney Bristow on Ben
Affleck and The Nanny after she caught them fucking on
the kitchen counter. But Jennifer Garner has a reputation
as Hollywood’s most wholesome mom to uphold, so she
didn’t go there. BOO! She does, however, manage to
throw a sweet Southern burn at Ben Affleck’s Choose
Your Own Adventure back tattoo.
In her interview with Vanity Fair , Jennifer comes off as
gracious and she never says anything like, “Fuck Ben
Affleck!” I mean, they still go on vacation together. But
she does say that Ben is ~ complicated ~ and when he’s
warm, you can bake your skin on him, but when he’s
cold, he makes you feel like Nicole Kidman getting an
ice water enema. She also pretty much confirms that Ben
and The Nanny had something going on. I’ve heard
Jennifer Garner talk about how much she loves Ben’s
brain before and she does it in this interview too. She
says that he’s always the most brilliant person in the
room. She didn’t go on to say, “if nobody else is in the
room .” There’s a bunch of quotes after the cut including
my favorite burn about his Ed Hardy back tattoo of
horrors:
On how their marriage wasn’t fake and they didn’t do
shit for the cameras (“ Inneresting ,” said the paps at the
farmer’s market):
“It was a real marriage,” Garner tells me. “It
wasn’t for the cameras. And it was a huge
priority for me to stay in it. And that did not
work.”
On if THE NANNY home wrecked her marriage:
“Let me just tell you something,” Garner says.
“We had been separated for months before I ever
heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do
with our decision to divorce. She was not a part
of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not
great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from
their lives.” Months later, she’s still assessing the
damage. “I have had to have conversations about
the meaning of ‘scandal,’ ” she says, with her
children.
On how she’d marry Ben Affleck on the beach again
even though it didn’t work out. (Her running on the
beach comment is very Nichols Sparks):
“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married
him,” she says. “And I would go back and remake
that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I
would again. You can’t have these three babies
and so much of what we had. He’s the love of
my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s
the most brilliant person in any room, the most
charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a
complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun
shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is
shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a
shadow.”
On how they accidentally ran over a hitchhiker once and
buried the body in the woods (that’s how I read the last
part):
Of course this is not what I imagined when I ran
down the beach, but it is where I am,” she says.
“We still have to help each other get through this.
He’s still the only person who really knows the
truth about things. And I’m still the only person
that knows some of his truths.”
On how she deals with the sads:
“When the earth shakes,” she says, “you go to
what you know from childhood. All of a sudden
I’m sitting down at the piano. I went back to
church. I sat down and wrote bad poetry all day
because I was so sad. I needed a dance class; it
reminded me of my fight scenes [in Alias] and
how I missed that. I feel the need to be physical
and I feel the need to punch someone. You know
what I look forward to? I look forward to getting
past the pity stage. I look forward to just having a
sense of humor.”
On how her kids love their father and she’ll forever be
his friend because of that:
“It’s not Ben’s job to make me happy,” she
insists. “The main thing is these kids—and we’re
completely in line with what we hope for them.
Sure, I lost the dream of dancing with my
husband at my daughter’s wedding. But you
should see their faces when he walks through
the door. And if you see your kids love someone
so purely and wholly, then you’re going to be
friends with that person.”
On Ricky Gervais making fun of Ben Affleck at the
Golden Globes:
“I laughed. People have pain—they do regrettable
things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain.
No one needs to hate him for me. I don’t hate
him. Certainly we don’t have to beat the guy up.
Don’t worry—my eyes were wide open during the
marriage. I’m taking good care of myself.”
On if there was one moment that she realized her
marriage was done:
“That’s a really hard question. I’m a pretty hard
worker. It’s one of the pains in my life that
something I believe in so strongly I’ve completely
failed at twice. You have to have two people to
dance a marriage. My heart’s a little on the
tender side right now, and it’s always easier to
focus on the ways that you feel hurt, but I know
that, with time and some perspective, I’ll have a
clearer sense of where I let the system down,
because there’s no way I get off in this.”
And finally, that tattoo.

Jennifer Garner said this about that mid-life crisis skid
mark :
“You know what we would say in my hometown
about that? ‘Bless his heart.’ A phoenix rising
from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario?”
Garner says with a wink. “I take umbrage. I refuse
to be the ashes.”
Through most of the interview, I sort of just nodded and
said “k, ” but when I got to her beautifully bitchy “bless his
heart” comment, I said, “ Jennifer Garner, I think I love
you. ”

Louis Tomlinson And His Baby Mother Are Fighting Over Money

Louis Tomlinson , the OshKosh B’gosh Luke Perry of One
Direction , and his baby mother, Briana Jungwirth, have
been fighting over $$$$$ ever since she gave birth to
their son , Freddie Reign , a month ago. The Sun claimed
that Louis and Briana worked out a child support
agreement and that it was decided that he’ll drop
$14,000 into her checking account every month for the
next 18 years. But TMZ says that it ain’t so, and they’re
still tussling over child support money. Briana wants
more of it and Louis wants to pay her less. Tale as old as
gold digger time….
Sources tell TMZ that before this morning, Briana was not
letting Louis see their son at all until he opened up that
wallet and made it rain more money on her. Briana was
allegedly using her baby as a pawn to get paid. TMZ’s
sources claim that Louis has been more than fair. Louis
got Briana and his son a 3-bedroom house in Calabasas
and he’s rented a fancier one nearby. He’s been paying
for Briana’s expenses, but they don’t have a set-in-stone
deal, so he pays a different amount each week. The
sources say that when they tried to agree to a set-in-
stone deal, she wanted more cash and shit hit the gutter.
Louis also hasn’t asked for a DNA test because he
believes that his jizz made that baby.
Lawyers for both sides were supposed to battle it out in
a court room this morning, but they put their dicks away
and agreed to a temporary settlement that kept them
from facing a judge. Briana has agreed to let Louis see
Freddie Reign for a few hours a day during the week. But
he can’t keep his son overnight. The agreement is
temporary and they’re apparently going to stick with
it until they can agree to a more concrete one.
I have a feeling that TMZ’s main source is probably Harry
Styles with a voice changer and they’re just trying to
smear Briana. But if all of this is true, then it’s a damn
shame and the GDA (Gold Diggers Association) has let
Briana down. GDA’s president, Heather Mills , should’ve
visited Briana and worked out a plan. First, you leak
stories to the media about what a shit person Louis is…
Second, you get the paparazzi to take pictures of you
holding your baby outside of Louis’ front door while you
bang on it and beg him to give you money for food
before your kid starves… You have to be slick about it.
The GDA should be ashamed of themselves for this!

The Brexit-backing 16-year-old girl who left politicians on BBC Question Time speechless by demanding tough border controls

A young woman (centre and circled top right) backing Brexit
stopped politicians in their tracks with a fierce attack on open
European borders during the BBC's Question Time.
Environment Secretary Liz Truss (left) and Labour's Diane
Abbott (inset) were left speechless after the powerful outburst
from the young audience member last night. The young
woman shredded the In campaign's suggestion that David
Cameron's EU deal would reduce the 'pull factors' of Britain.
The impassioned intervention came after Ms Truss, who has
backed Prime Minister David Cameron's recommendation
Britain should stay in the EU, outlined the case defending the
EU deal negotiated last week in Brussels. She said the new
national living wage was 10 times higher than the equivalent in
eastern Europe. And she said: 'I would get out of the EU so we
could have a fair points-based system so we don't favour
people from the EU over people (outside) of the EU.

Justin Bieber looks worse for wear after 'a member of his entourage started a fight at his party'... as he leads the bleary eyed stars stumbling home

The 2016 BRIT Awards went off without a hitch - for a change - but that didn't stop its myriad of star guests heading to the variety of after parties to well and truly let their hair down.
There were a handful of parties that the good and great of the music world and their showbiz peers went to in London on Wednesday evening, namely the Universal, Warner and Sony Music soirees dotted across the capital.
Leading the bleary-eyed party-hopping brigade was Justin Bieber, who hosted his own BRITs after-after party at Tape London, as he left the venue in the early hours of the morning.
Boozy BRITs! Justin Bieber looked worse for wear as he led the stars leaving the myriad of post-BRIT Awards parties on Wednesday night

However, reports claim Justin was left 'fuming' after fight ruined his party as one of the men in his entourage 'launched at someone from outside the group'.
A source told The Mirror: 'He came through a VVIP section in Tape at 1.35am and was escorted to a table in the VIP section near club dancers in skimpy underwear. He was not happy with photos being taken and the lights were dimmed. A man from his VVIP group suddenly launched at someone from outside the group, which was protected by security.'
After the incident, the night was ruined for the singer and he abruptly exited the club. The insider added to the newspaper: 'Bieber looked fuming and the whole thing descended into chaos. Everyone was pushing and shoving. The man was dragged inside and everyone was pushed out.
