Rihanna’s Work pays off

RIHANNA is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the song Work, which features Canadian rapper Drake.
The dancehall-inspired track contains a sample from American rhythm and blues singer Alexander O’Neal’s 1985 hit
If You Were Here Tonight.
Initially, credit was given to Jamaican singer/producer Richie Stephens (real name Richard Stephenson) as it was thought to be a sample from his 1998 production, the Sail Away rhythm.
Sail Away also contains a sample from If You Were Here Tonight which was written and produced by Monte Moir.
Wikipedia and Rihanna’s official website, give songwriting credit to Moir.
Work was co-produced by Jamaica-born, Canada-based Matthew ‘Boi-1Da’ Samuels and Kuk Harrell. It is the first chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100 for Samuels and the 14th for Barbadian Rihanna. The song is from her album ANTI which topped the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
A video for Work, directed by Trinidad-born, Canada-based Little X, was released on Monday. It features choreography by Jamaican Tanisha Scott who has worked on videos for Sean Paul, Drake and Beyonce
