Donald Trump failed to express any remorse for cheating on his first wife Ivana in a 1994 interview that emerged, saying instead that he may have continued his affair with Marla Maples had he not gotten caught.
When an interviewer on ABC Primetime Live asked Trump whether he would have 'confronted that situation', he expressed his doubts before saying 'life was just a bowl of cherries' because he had 'a beautiful girlfriend, a beautiful wife, a beautiful everything'.
Trump famously cheated on Ivana, who met Maples during a 1990 Christmas skiing trip in Aspen after she had been married to the business tycoon for 13 years.
Maples is said to have confronted Ivana by asking: 'I’m Marla and I love your husband. Do you?', and the dissolution of Trump's first marriage ended up costing more than $14million.

In the video unearthed by the New York Daily News, Trump shared the moment Marla and Ivana confronted each other in Aspen.
He said: 'I was standing there like an idiot and Marla and Ivana were here, and there wasn't shouting but you could obviously see there was some friction.
'And a man who was standing right next to me who weighed about 350 pounds and wasn't a very attractive guy said to me: "It could be worse, Donald, I've been in Aspen for 20 years and I've never had a date."
Trump failed to take responsibility for his actions or show any empathy, saying instead: 'I'll never forget the statement, and it sort of lightened it up for me. I'm saying you know, I guess it could be worse.'
Trump also expressed doubts that he would have come clean about the affair on his own.
When asked whether he would have 'confronted the situation', he responded: 'Well it's interesting, because it's possible that you know, maybe [the affair] would still be going on. I'm not sure.'
'My life was so great in so many ways. The business was so great... a beautiful girlfriend, a beautiful wife, a beautiful everything. Life was just a bowl of cherries,' he added.

Maples (right) went on to become Trump's second wife. In the 1994 interview, Trump also made light of the two women's confrontation and failed to take responsibility for his behavior. |
The video came less than a day after a 2005 hot mic recording, which sent his campaign into a tailspin after his lewd comments about groping women came to light.
In a conversation with Billy Bush on the set of Access Hollywood, Trump was recorded talking about trying to 'f***' a married woman.
He also said he 'can do whatever he wants' to women - including 'grab them by the p***y' because he's a celebrity.
The comments drew wide condemnation from his own party, and his current wife Melania called his statements 'unacceptable and offensive.'
But she defended him, issuing a statement that read: 'This does not represent the man that I know.
'He has the heart and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing out nation and the world,' the statement said.
