Incredible drone footage shows Apple's $5billion new Cupertino HQ is almost complete.



Construction on Apple Campus 2 in Cupertino, California, is underway.

It features a huge circular 'spaceship' building covered in solar panels.

There's also a 1,000-seat auditorium and a 100,000 sq ft fitness center.

Construction on Apple Campus 2 – which was announced by late Apple founder Steve Jobs in 2006 and designed by architect Norman Foster – is currently underway in Cupertino, California.

Nearly ten years after Jobs revealed the tech giant had bought the land around a mile from the company’s existing facility at 1 Infinite Loop, his futuristic vision for the new campus is almost realized.

The latest video update from the company revealed that installation of solar panels on the circular ‘spaceship’ building is around 40 per cent complete.

The research and development facility looks almost complete from the outside and multiple office buildings are ‘rising quickly’ on Tantau Avenue.

Meanwhile, construction is also underway on a new 1,000-seat auditorium will be the new home of Apple’s highly-anticipated product reveals.

Built on a massive 175 acres, the finished campus will span 2.8 million square feet and accommodate around 12,000 staff.

They’ll have use of parking garages that can hold 11,000 vehicles as well as a 100,000 square foot fitness center.

Apple also aim to make the campus self-sufficient and will plant 7,000 trees in the dirt that was removed to build the company.

A 1000-seat auditorium will be the new home of Apple’s highly-anticipated products.


The first batches of these trees have already been planted.

Construction is due to be complete by the end of the year and the campus is scheduled to open in 2017.

Staff will access to a 100,000 square foot fitness center (above) on the new Apple campus.
