Is Samsung bringing out a 'jet black' phone? Rumours suggest the firm will take on Apple with a new colour Galaxy S7.

When the iPhone 7 came out in September, Apple unveiled a new glossy 'Jet Black' colour, which joined the existing gold, rose gold, silver and matte black options.
And it looks like Samsung might soon be bringing out a similar new glossy black colour, in a bid to compete with its rival.
According to industry experts, Samsung will bring out the newly added hue in its Galaxy S7 in time for Christmas.
The claims come from the Korean Herald, which did not name its source.
The report comes shortly after Samsung was forced to axe its Galaxy Note 7 device, after several reports that the phones were exploding.
In October, the firm offered everyone their money back, resulting in an estimated £15 billion ($19 billion) in losses.

But Samsung has stacked up a fairly successful sales record in its home country of South Korea, where it recently introduced new colours to its Galaxy S7 line, which first launched in March.
According to the Korean Herald, a coral blue colour is selling around 15,000 phones a day.
In comparison with this, around 10,000 iPhone 7 devices are sold a day.

But outside of South Korea, Samsung trails behind Apple in sales, with Apple dominating the market with over 103 per cent of total profits, while Samsung only has 0.9 per cent.
Samsung has remained quiet about the new jet black colour, but new pictures have been leaked by Weibo user, Shaokangchina, which suggests what it might look like.
The iPhone 7 sold out in jet black within a matter of minutes after its release, but Apple has admitted that the glossy finish will scratch more easily than other colours.

A disclaimer on Apple's website reads: 'The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodisation and polishing process.
'Its surface is equally as hard as other anodised Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use.
'If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone'.
It remains to be seen if Samsung will face the same issues, should it bring out the rumoured jet black phone.
