King With his dad and his famous girlfriend...

Photos: US Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay's 15-year-old daughter killed in shootout at a restaurant.

American Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay’s teenage daughter was killed by stray bullet in an apparent shootout at a restaurant.

Trinity Gay, 15, a rising track star died after being shot in the neck at a restaurant in Kentucky in the early hours of Sunday morning, October 16th. Tyson Gay, who grew up in Lexington told local news site LEX 18:
"She didn’t make it. I’m so confused. She was just here last week for fall break. It’s so crazy. I have no idea what happened."
The runner told reporters he was very close with his daughter, who was following in her dad's footsteps as a rising track star. Police in Lexington, where the fatal shooting happened, said it happened at around 4am 98am.
According to police, a group of men in two cars outside of the Cook Out restaurant began shooting at each other before speeding off.

It is thought Trinity was a bystander who was not in the vehicles, described as a Dodge Charger and a dark coloured sports car with tinted windows, when she was shot. Police say they believe they have found one of the cars that could be involved in this shooting and they are questioning possible suspects.

In a statement police said they are now investigating the early morning homicide.
Trinity ran as an athlete for Lafayette High School, making a name for herself locally with success as a 100m and 200m sprinter.
"She was so innocent, she was so innocent," her mother, Shoshana Boyd, told the Daily News in a tearful interview. "I just want people to stop shooting and realise who they 're hurting. It's just random. They don't understand who they are hurting"
She said her daughter wanted to become a surgeon and also hoped to match the Olympic glory of her father.
"I should never have to bury my own child," Boyd said. "She wanted to be the fastest woman in the world, and they took that away from her".

BREAKING NEWS: Republican party headquarters is firebombed and an adjacent building is daubed with Nazi graffiti in North Carolina.

The Republican party headquarters in North Carolina was firebombed and an adjacent building was vandalized with the words: 'Nazi Republicans leave town or else.'

One state GOP official called the attack on the building in Hillsborough, Orange County an act of 'political terrorism', the Charlotte Observer reported.

A bottle, filled with flammable substance, was thrown into a window overnight, setting off a fire that scorched the interior of the building before the blaze burned itself out, police said.

Executive director of the state's Republican Party Dallas Woodhouse said the building was 'a total loss' and photos from the interior showed damaged yard signs bearing the names of Donald Trump and Mike Pence, along with other politicians.

With three weeks left until election day, Mayor Tom Stevens acknowledged the significance of the attack, saying: 'This highly disturbing act goes far beyond vandalizing property.

'It willfully threatens our community’s safety, and its hateful message undermines decency, respect and integrity in civic participation.'

Twin boys conjoined at the head are finally separated after 20-hour op that veteran surgeon almost stopped half-way through.

A pair of twins conjoined at the head have been successfully separated after a 20-hour operation.

Anias and Jadon McDonald, 13 months old, are recovering in the Bronx's Montefiore Hospital after their life-threatening operation on Thursday.

According to their surgeon - Dr James Goodrich - it is incredible they made it this far.

Half way through the operation, the veteran neurosurgeon considered stopping the procedure altogether when they discovered the boys shared far more brain tissue than they had expected - even despite using 3D imaging to prepare.

Made it out: One of the twins, Jadon (pictured), is recovering in his ward on Friday.

Anias was still in surgery late on Friday morning since he was more affected by the separation of their brain tissue

Extraordinary: Anias and Jadon McDonald underwent surgery to be separated

With every cut, Anias' heart rate and blood pressure plummeted.
Eventually he found an opening and continued, successfully separating the two.

However, it means that while Jaden is recovering relatively well, Anias was still in surgery late on Friday morning, and could face severe physical issues.
Their parents Nicole and Christian, from near Chicago, Illinois, sat in the waiting room the whole time.

Nicole, 31, took to Facebook on Friday to explain all the details to the thousands of people that have followed the family's story.

'The overall atmosphere was one of celebration mixed with uncertainty,' she explained

They boys were born via cesarean section last September near Chicago, Illinois.
They were attached by the crown of the head.

Nicole and 37-year-old Christian insisted the boys were perfect as they were.
But in order to let them lead a normal life, they have traveled to Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, New York, to have one of the world's most esteemed surgeons perform the incredibly rare operation to separate their heads.
The operation costs $2.5 million.

Long wait: Their parents Nicole and Christian (pictured in white) stand in the ward with the surgeons as the boys get ready for their 20-hour surgery on Thursday in Montefiore Hospital

Happy: Nicole, 31, and 37-year-old Christian, insisted the boys were perfect as they were

The boys were wheeled into the operating theater at 7.15am on Thursday.
'I could almost keep them like this,' Nicole told CNN before the operation, admitting that she had become attached to the boys this way.

She said she knew this was for the best, but the fear that something could go wrong during surgery was excruciating.
'This is so hard. I'm not going to sugarcoat it,' she said.

Anias and Jadon, who have a three-year-old brother Aza, are technically called 'craniopagus twins' - a phenomenon that occurs just once in every 2.5 million births.

Based on national statistics, it is astonishing they made it to 13 months.
Around 40 per cent of craniopagus twins are stillborn.
Of those that survive, a third die within 24 hours of birth

Doctors in China succesfully operate on 28-week-old fetus with heart disease...while inside mother's belly.

Doctors in Guangzhou Province, South China have successfully operated on a 28-week-old fetus with congenital heart disease - while in its mom’s belly.

The 39-year-old patient, whose surname is Xie, became pregnant for a second time six months ago. Twenty-one weeks later, she had an ultrasonic test which showed the fetus was suffering from arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia. The chances of survival are very low if surgery is undertaken after birth.

Xie insisted she wanted to keep the baby. And on September 22, doctors in Guangzhou conducted interventional cardiology treatment, with the help of experts from Austria. The size of the fetus’ heart was as small as an almond so the slightest movement could have resulted in damage, said Zhuang Jian, the director of Guangdong General Hospital.

Xie left the hospital four days after the successful operation. This is the first time Chinese doctors have conducted an interventional cardiology operation on a fetus’ congenital heart disease.

Mercedes-Benz admits automated driverless cars would run over a CHILD rather than swerve and risk injuring the passengers inside.

Driverless cars would hit a child on the street if it meant saving the people inside the vehicle, Mercedes-Benz Australia says.

The luxury car brand's Australian branch has answered the moral dilemma of who a driverless car would save if it was faced with running over a child or swerving into a car and potentially killing the passengers.

'If there is someone literally jumping in front of you, in that circumstance, there's nothing technology can do except reduce speed of impact,' Mercedes-Benz Australia spokesman David McCarthy told The Australian

The Mercedes-Benz F015 Luxury in Motion concept car, a self-driving, hydrogen-electric plug-in hybrid, makes its debut at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show.

The Mercedes Benz F015 self-driving car is presented for the first time in Europe at the Dam square in Amsterdam

'If an impact is inevitable, it will reduce the speed, tighten seatbelts and prime the brakes.
'The safety systems and impact protections are obviously greater within the cabin than outside.
'I would say that the vehicle is designed inside to protect the people inside, and it's the assistance systems that do that,' he said.

Mr McCarthy echoed the sentiments of Mercedes manager of driver assistance systems, Christoph von Hugo, who last week said that driverless technology would put the safety of passengers before pedestrians.
'If you know you can save at least one person, at least save that one. Save the one in the car. If all you know for sure is that one death can be prevented, then that's your first priority,' Mr von Hugo told Car and Driver Magazine.
But he added that the car giant's engineers 'prevent these situations from happening at all.'

Australia is heavily investing in driverless technology as it trials self-driving cars with Holden at a research hub in South Australia.
Volvo and Uber recently announced they were joining forces in a $300m project to develop autonomous 'base vehicles'.
Safety issues were thrust into the limelight when 40-year-old Ohio man Joshua Brown was killed while using the car's autopilot function.
Mr Brown and the autopilot feature failed to detect an incoming white truck due to the sun's bright glare.
